What you need:

  • 28 oz. canned crushed tomatoes
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 8 lean Italian turkey sausage (sweet or hot)
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup basil, chopped

Step 1 Stir the tomatoes, garlic, chicken broth, vinegar, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the sausages, peppers, and onions, Stir together.
