  • 1/2 lb tomatillos, husked and quartered (fresh or canned)
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 avocado
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/4 cup cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno pepper (or serrano, seeded, adjust to taste)
  • salt and pepper

Step 1 Add everything to a food processor or blender and pulse to desired consistency. I like mine smooth and creamy but it is also delicious as a chunky salsa.

Step 2 Taste and adjust flavor if needed. Add more avocado if it is too spicy. Add more jalapeno if it isn't spicy enough. Add lime juice or cilantro for more flavor. Also make sure to use enough salt since it really brings out all the flavors.
