Broiled Flank Steak

What you need:

  • 2 lbs lean flank steak (trimmed)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Step 1 Combine the olive oil, soy sauce, red wine vinegar, honey, garlic, and black pepper in a bowl.

Step 2 Marinate the steak in this mixture for at least 2 hours, or overnight. Make sure to let the steak come to room temperature before cooking for the best results.

Step 3 When ready to cook preheat the broiler to high and move an oven rack 5-6 inches from the broiler. Line a baking sheet with foil and place the steak on the baking sheet, It might need to be cut into two pieces.

Step 4 Place it under the broiler and cook for 3-5 minutes depending on the thickness of your steak and desired doneness. It should get nicely browned on the top. Then flip and cook an additional 3-5 minutes depending on how well done you want the steak.
