  • 6 cups vegetable broth (or water)
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tsp. kosher salt

Step 1Add everything, except the salt, to the slow cooker. Cover the beans with water or stock until there is one inch of water over the beans. It should be about 6 cups.
