Easy to make, delicious Crockpot Turkey Chili with ground turkey, pinto beans, and kidney beans. Full of all the classic chili flavor but lightened up with ground turkey.

List of Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup carrots, diced (optional)
  • 1 cup celery, diced (optional)
  • 1 lb 99% lean ground turkey
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2.5 tbsp chili powder (more to taste)
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, to taste)
  • 2 cups low sodium beef broth
  • 14 oz canned diced fire roasted tomatoes (with juice)
  • 14 oz canned kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 14 oz canned pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup canned tomato sauce (no sugar added)

1 Heat the olive oil over medium high heat in a heavy pan. Add the onions, carrots, and celery. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring as needed, until onions are tender.

2 Add the ground turkey, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.

3 Add the minced garlic, tomato paste, and all the spices. Cook for 2-3 minutes until very fragrant.

4 Add this mixture to the slow cooker. Add the tomatoes, kidney beans, pinto beans, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Cook on low for at least 4 hours.
