Easy Orange Chicken

What you need:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast, chopped
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch, divided
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2/3 cup fresh orange juice
  • 3 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 orange (zest)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Step 1 Preheat the oven to 400°F. In a large bowl, toss the chicken with half of the cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2 In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, remaining cornstarch, vinegar, ginger, garlic, and orange zest. Set the mixture aside.

Step 3 In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chicken in a single layer. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes on one side, until it is brown. Flip the chicken and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes on the other side. Turn off the heat and pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, stirring to combine. Place the skillet in the oven and cook the chicken for 10 minutes.

Step 4 Carefully remove the skillet and stir in the broccoli. Return the skillet to the oven and cook for 5 minutes. Sprinkle the chicken and broccoli with the sesame seeds and serve.
