List of Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (more as needed, or other neutral oil)
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt (more to taste)

1 Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the sesame seeds and gently toast, stirring as needed, making sure not to burn. It should take about 5 minutes but watch carefully since they burn quickly. Let cool.

2 Add the sesame seeds to a food processor. Process for 1-2 minutes until crumbly with a sandy texture.

3 Add the salt and then slowly drizzle in the olive oil and continue to process, scraping down the sides as needed.

4 Continue to process until the tahini is smooth and creamy, it may take about 5 minutes.
