Garlic Knots (with Two Ingredient Dough)
These simple and delicious Garlic Knots are made with two-ingredient dough, brushed with a mouthwatering garlic mixture, then baked to golden-brown perfection. Serve them as an appetizer or side dish alongside marinara sauce; nobody will be able to eat just one!
What you need:
- 1.25 cups self rising flour
- 1 cup non fat Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp melted butter (or olive oil)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced (about 1 tablespoon)
- 1 tsp fresh basil, minced (or dried)
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and yogurt, stirring until they are well combined, using a fork, if necessary. If the mixture is too sticky, add a Tablespoon of additional flour and continue to mix. Repeat as necessary until the mixture becomes a workable ball of dough. Remove the dough from the bowl and knead on a lightly floured surface, until the dough is smooth.
Roll the dough into 6 inch long, small ropes, Tie each piece into a knot, and tuck ends under. Place each knot onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter (or olive oil), minced garlic, and basil. Brush the tops of each knot with the mixture, make sure to completely brush the top so they come out golden brown. Optional: Sprinkle with salt, dried herbs, or grated parmesan as desired
Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
