What you need:
- 15 oz canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed (or 1.5 cups cooked chickpeas)
- 3 tbsp almond butter
- 3 tbsp pure maple syrup (more to taste)
- 2 pitted dates
- 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 3 tbsp unsweetened almond milk (more as needed)
Make sure to rinse the chickpeas and dry them well. Then add the chickpeas, almond butter, maple syrup, dates, cinnamon, vanilla extract, sea salt, and almond milk to the food processor.
Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, adding extra milk if needed. Taste the mixture and adjust to your desired sweetness. Some people like more maple syrup. Add additional cinnamon or vanilla to taste.
Serve with fresh-cut fruit, graham crackers, or pretzels.
