Add the sweet potatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes, until beginning to brown slightly. Add the garlic, turmeric, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Let cook for 10-15 minutes until sweet potatoes are almost tender. Add the couscous or pasta. Let cook for 7-11 minutes until tender, but slightly al dente since it will continue to cook in the hot broth.

Add the chicken and stir. Taste and season with salt and pepper. We love adding a splash of vinegar to soup right before serving. Use apple cider vinegar or sherry vinegar.
