Sunday Slow Cooker: Barbecue Beer Braised Beef

Season the beef with salt and pepper. Add the beef to the slow cooker and top with onions and garlic.
Whisk together the ketchup, molasses, vinegar, mustard, brown sugar, paprika, and cumin. Add some hot sauce to taste if you like spice. Pour over beef.
Add the beer and then cook on low for 8 hours. Shred or slice.
If you desire a thicker sauce, pour the sauce into a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Reduce until thick, about 8 minutes.
