For this recipe I think it's essential to start off with what this recipe isn't. This isn't your typical, covered in BBQ sauce, pulled pork. It's also not the super sweet, brown sugar packed, style barbecue many of us are used to. Believe I love those just as much as the next person, but today's recipe isn't that. Instead this is a dry rub influenced pulled pork packed with spices instead of sweet. It uses paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and some chili powder if you like to mimic the dry rub flavors you sometimes get on great ribs, chicken, or brisket. It's great as a dish on its own, tucked into sandwiches, in tortillas for some BBQ style tacos, or even with salads (gasp!). Give it a shot, worst case scenario you can pour in a bottle of barbecue sauce at the end.
