Skinny Sangria

A lower calorie version of your favorite Sangria perfect for any party or get-together.
Calling all Sangria lovers! After multiple, painstaking tests (it's very hard to drinking lots of wine with girlfriends....), I have finally come up with a lower calorie, skinny Sangria recipe that I love. It uses a combination of red wine, pomegranate juice, soda water, diet lemon lime soda, and all your favorite fruit. The pomegranate juice is the secret because it adds depth and a slight tartness to the sangria that balances out the sweetness.
Personally I am not someone who loves an overly sweet Sangria, so this really works for me. If you like a sweeter Sangria, you could always use more lemon lime soda and less plain soda water. Just taste it along the way and stop when it tastes good. Then you can add any combination of fruit. This time around I added apples, oranges, and pomegranate seeds. Grapes, peaches, pears, or berries would also be great. Let's be honest - any wine soaked fruit tastes good.
This lightened up Sangria is definitely on my menu for next week. What are your favorite lower calorie cocktails?
