I am calling this recipe Portabella Parmesan Buns because I most often use it when I need a low carb or lower calorie hamburger bun replacement. However it makes a delicious side dish in addition to being a terrific bun replacement. If you like spice, I recommend adding some red pepper flakes to your mushrooms for added flavor.
Portabella Parmesan Buns

Brush the portabella mushrooms with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
Place directly on grill and turn after 3 minutes or broil for 2-3 minutes until tender.
Top each mushroom with ½ tbsp. Parmesan cheese and cook for 3 more minutes
