Mashed Carrots and Rutabaga

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the rutabaga and cook for 10 minutes. Add the carrots and continue boiling for around 20 minutes until everything is very tender.
Drain. Using a hand masher (or blender), add the butter and milk/cooking liquid. Mash to desired consistency and season with salt and pepper.
