I had never cooked pork tenderloin until recently and have since fallen in love with it as a great, delicious, and lean protein. It cooks really quickly and can be paired with lots of different spices, rubs, and marinades. It is also a great alternative to chicken which we honestly eat a lot of in our house. For this recipe, I created a quick and easy marinade that I learned from a co-worker. This marinade also works great with chicken or steak.

  • 1.33 lb lean pork tenderloin
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp Chinese 5 Spice
  • 1 tbsp. grill seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce

Directions

  1. Combine all the ingredients to create marinade for the pork tenderloin. Marinate for at least 2 hours in the fridge grilling.
  2. Preheat the grill on medium high. Once the grill is ready, grill the pork tenderloin for 5-7 minutes on each side, basting with the remaining marinade throughout. If the pork if not cooked enough (it should get to an internal temp of 150-160) move it to the top rack in the grill to continue cooking. This will prevent it from burning.
  3. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
