One of my favorite sushi restaurants makes an amazing garlic edamame appetizer. It's so incredibly simple but so so good and I can't figure out why I never thought to make it at home until this week. All it takes is some edamame, olive oil, garlic, and then if you like things spicy you can add red pepper flakes. That's it and trust me when I say it will be gone before you know it.

Cook the edamame according to package directions. Usually this means boiling them for about 5 minutes or microwaving.
Meanwhile heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add the edamame and stir to coat. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon or lime juice if desired.
