This is probably going to sound strange to most people. I don't really like pasta. I know, I know, but seriously unless it is freshly made it just isn't my thing. However this dish changes that a little since the sauce is so good. A simple mix of butter, garlic, snap peas, chopped ham, cream cheese, milk, and mozzarella - this sauce is a cinch to make but tastes pretty dreamy.

Ingredients

US METRICS
  • 10 oz. high fiber pasta
  • 10 oz. sugar snap peas
  • 2 U garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 cup lean boneless ham, chopped
  • 1/4 cup reduced fat cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup nonfat milk
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Cook the pasta according to package directions.

During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the snap peas. Once pasta is cooked al dente and snap peas are just tender crisp, drain and set aside.

Melt the butter in a large pan. Once melted, add the garlic and ham and cook until garlic is fragrant.

Stir in the pasta and snap peas. Then add the cream cheese, nonfat milk, and Parmesan cheese. Stir together until everything melts and thickens up.

Season well with salt and pepper.
