I have an absolute weakness for chips, chips of all kinds and all varieties. I just plain love chips. Salty and crunchy may just be the way to my heart. Lately I have been seeing a lot of new chips on the market and wanted to share some of my favorite new finds. They are perfectly delicious on their own or dipped into something delicious like Skinny Queso, Artichoke or Buffalo Wing Hummus, or Skinny Guacamole.
What are your favorite go-to, healthy chips?
1. Food Should Taste Good Kettle Corn Tortilla Chips, 4 P+, 140 calories per serving
Honestly I love almost every chip that this company produces the Jalapeno is incredible, the Sweet Potato divine, they are all incredible and the stats are pretty good as long as you stick to one serving. Their newest flavor, Kettle Corn, is perfect for anyone who loves the sweet and salty combo. I recommend popping them into individual serving containers or baggies when you bring them home to prevent overeating. Unless you have willpower, in which case I am jealous.
2. Simply 7 Single-Serve Sea Salt Lentil Chips and Hummus Chips, 3-4 P+, 110-130 calories
I was very skeptical when I first tried these Lentil and Hummus chips at a local Whole Foods. Don’t get me wrong, I was happy to take the samples, but wasn’t so sure about a lentil chip. Surprisingly, they were really delicious crispy and crunchy and although not completely hummus tasting, still delicious. In fact they would be perfect with some additional hummus for a truly Mediterranean flavor.
3. Gourmet Basics Smart Fries, 3 P+, 110 calories
I think I am a little behind the curve on finding these delicious Smart Fries, but am happy I finally did. They come in all kinds flavors Sea Salt, Vintage Cheddar, Honey BBQ, Vinegar Splash, Jalapeño Trio, Honey Mustard & Onion and have a ton of fries for only 110 calories. They are also surprisingly delicious dipped in ketchup don’t judge:)
4. Medora Snacks Popcorners Popped Corn Chips, 4 P+, 140 calories
If you are a fan of PopChips, these will be right up your alley. Airy and delicious, crunchy low calorie corn chips. My favorite flavor so far is the Cheesy Jalapeno, but the Kettle flavor (sweet and salty) is a close second. My friend is addicted to the butter flavor and always brings them with her to movies. Also in other news, Popchips just came out with a Sweet Potato chip that is delicious.
5. Kashi TLC Pita Crisps, P+, 120 calories
Last but certainly not least is these delicious Pita crackers/chips from Kashi. I have always loved pita chips and haven’t found a low calorie version that quite compares to the original, fried version. However these crackers from Kashi are pretty delicious and work great with hummus, or as a bread alternative with chicken or egg salad. They also stand up great in soups if you are looking to add some extra crunch.
