To be honest, nutrition bars (is that what they are even called?), are not my favorite go to option for meals or snacks. However, in a pinch they can be just the right thing to grab running out the door and there actually are some pretty good ones out there these days. I tend to lean towards all natural bars because I find they are the least "fake" or "chalky" tasting since they normally just contain fruit, nuts, and seeds. Which are your favorites?
1. Zing Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar: 6 P+
This is one of the best tasting bars out there in my opinion and is loaded with protein, 13 grams, so you stay full for a long time. It is also 100% organic, wheat and gluten free, and to be honest, tastes almost like a candy bar.
2. Blueberry Pure Raw Fruit & Nut Bar: 5 P+
This is an all natural, raw bar made of fruit, nuts, and seeds and is pretty delicious. It is a little lower in fat than many of the other raw bars with only 8 grams, but it doesn't keep me full quite as long as the bars with more protein. This one has 6 grams.
3. Lemon Zest Luna Bar: 5 P+
I love pretty much anything with lemon and this bar works for me because of the yummy lemon icing on the bottom. It is low in fat (5 grams) and pretty high in fiber (9 grams) so it has a lot of staying power. You can also find this bar almost anywhere which makes it high up on my list.
4. Cashew Cookie LaraBar: 6 P+
This bar is pretty simple - it only contains cashews and dates, and as someone who absolutely loves cashews, I really enjoy this bar. I also enjoy LaraBar's chocolate coconut chew and carrot cake bars when I can't find this one in stock.
5. Strawberry ProBar Fruition: 4 P+
This has the lowest calories and fat of all my choices, with 160 calories and only 2 grams of fat, but also won't keep you full quite as long. It is a great bar for an afternoon snack or before a workout. I think the strawberry is their best flavor but all of them are pretty tasty.
