Teriyaki Chicken Wings

This could be the simplest wings recipe ever. They look complicated and taste like they took hours, but really it is just two ingredients – chicken wings and Teriyaki sauce. They also involve the microwave, which I know for some people is a problem, but it really does speed up the cooking and marinating process. If you are against the microwave, marinate thawed wings overnight and cook for about an hour. They will still be delicious, just not as quick.

Ingredients
3 pounds of frozen wings
2 bottles low sodium bottled teriyaki marinade like Kikkoman, it should be thin

Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Place the frozen wings in a large microwave safe container. Pour both bottles of teriyaki sauce over the wings. It will not cover them completely.

2. Microwave on high power for 10 minutes. Take out and move the wings around. Return to microwave for another 10 minutes on high power. Remove again and move around. Return to the microwave for an additional 10 minutes. Altogether, they will be microwaved for 30 minutes.

3. Take out of the liquid and place on a non-stick oven pan or glass dish. Discard the cooking liquid. Bake for 10 minutes. Move the wings around. Bake for an additional 7-10 minutes until the skin is nice and crispy.

I won’t be so “slender” when I consume all three pounds by myself! Sounds wonderful and can’t wait to try.

I was wondering if you used wings or wingettes? The picture looks like you used wingettes. Does it matter?

Good eye! I prefer using wings, but of course when I made these to photograph for the blog I could only find the wingettes. Either would work great.
