I originally saw this recipe about a year ago on the news, and honestly was a little in shock. Replace my beloved avocado with peas(!) in guacamole. It seemed crazy, like I was cheating on the avocado, especially since avocados are full of healthy fats and nutrients. However, yesterday some friends decided to stop by and I needed a quick snack to serve. I only had one avocado, which would never be enough, and then I remembered seeing this recipe and decided to give it a try, knowing full well I would not tell anyone there were peas in the guacamole. Surprisingly, it turned out great! No one had any idea and the resulting guacamole had lower calories and fat plus some additional fiber.

Did you use canned or frozen peas?
due you use the frozen peas or the can?
I used frozen peas that I defrosted and mashed. Either would work I just like the taste of frozen better.
I tried this a few weeks ago when having a party…it was a HUGE hit and no one had a clue there were peas in it!! When I shared the secret ingredient people were shocked! I had people saying “I don’t even like peas!” I personally used the can peas..because I felt that they mixed in easier and the skins broke down into the guacamole better but I would never choose canned peas for anything else! Anyway, this recipe was great because my 2 avocados made a TON of guacamole!
