Crispy, baked sweet potatoes fries with a touch of spice and the perfect balance of sweetness. They make the perfect side dish or snack and are something I eat on a weekly basis without fail. In this recipe I decided to use chili powder because I wanted a more intense spice, but curry powder would also be delicious for a milder spice with some more earthy notes. Make some burgers, bake a big batch of these, and enjoy a delicious, lighter “burger and fries” at home. They also make delicious cheese fries for a game day snack.

  • 3 cups sweet potatoes, cut into thin fries
  • 2 U egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Cover a baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray.
  2. Beat the egg whites. Toss with the sweet potatoes and let all excess drain off.
  3. Lay out flat on the baking sheet, without having them overlap.
  4. Sprinkle with spices.
  5. Bake for 12 minutes. Flip over and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
