The perfect excuse to eat chocolate for breakfast with these Chocolate Banana Protein Pancakes with just 88 calories for three.

It’s hard to put a finger on what my very favorite thing about Chocolate Banana Protein Pancakes is. There are so many things I love about them. I guess if I had to choose, I would say it is that they are so simple to prepare that even my kids can make them! That is a major benefit when the afternoon munchies roll around.

These delightful pancakes are also grain-free and have no added sugar! They are sweetened by the bananas and held together by the eggs. The pancakes are not overly chocolatey, but if you are craving a little extra, go ahead and drizzle with chocolate syrup. I won’t judge.

The pancakes come together in a snap and we have been known to enjoy them as breakfast, snacks, or even for dessert! I hope your family will enjoy these as much as we do. Perhaps best of all is that you can enjoy three small pancakes for only 88 calories, or 1 SmartPoint.

  • 2 U ripe bananas
  • 2 U eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • Cooking spray

  1. Mash the bananas in a bowl using a fork or potato masher. Add the eggs, baking powder, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and protein powder (if using). Mix until combined.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium high heat and spray with cooking spray. Add about 2 tbsp of pancake batter onto the pan. Cook for about 1 minute until browned and then gently flip and cook for 30 seconds more until cooked through. Serve warm.
