Friday Five: Chocolate Chocolate Mint Mint

Thankfully someone figured out that chocolate and mint were meant to be friends. Like the best of friends. I pretty much die for anything combining the two – ice cream, candy, cookies, you name it, I’m in. And lately that love has been spiraling a bit out of control with chocolate mint making a pretty much daily appearance in my life. But things could be worse, right? Oh and one more thing I am dying over these days – these absolutely adorable upcycled guitar pick earrings. They are made by an amazing 11 year old, Jenelle, who is creating these to fight bullying and keep her own mind off it. Head over to her shop to check things out and support her.

And back to the chocolate mint – here are some of my favorite guilt-free chocolate mint snacks. What are yours?

1. Dreyer’s/Edy’s Slow Churned Mint Chocolate Chip, 3 points plus per 1/2 scoop
I pretty much always have this stuff in my freezer. My favorite ways to enjoy it are smushed together with about 3/4 cup skim milk for a homemade, chunky milk shake or on top of some of these delicious brownie bites from Skinny Taste.

2. Miss Meringue Drizzled Meringue Cookies Mint Chocolettes, 10 for 4 points plus
If you like a crispy, crunchy meringue that melts in your month, you will love these. And the fact that you can eat 10 for just 4 points is an added bonus. You may be able to find these in your local grocery store, but I find it is usually easier to order them from Amazon since my grocery store only has them sporadically.

3. Frozen Chocolate Mint Dessert, 3 points plus
I am a little embarrassed to admit how much I love this recipe from WW. It is basically frozen chocolate mint flavored whipped topping with some wafer cookies and chocolate mint candy, but I love it. I make them often and keep them in my freezer for a late night dessert craving.

4. Peppermint Fudge Bark, 2 points plus
This recipe is for more of a peppermint brownie than a true chocolate bark, but it is delicious and really easy either way. All you need is some crushed candy canes, brownie mix, pumpkin, and some white chocolate. They come together in an instant and will fool anyone who questions that they are guilt-free.

5. Skinny Peppermint Mocha, 2 points plus
Eventhough we have left the holidays behind, I personally am not ready to give up the peppermint mocha just yet. This light and delicious version from Lisa at Snack Girl is a great way to get all the peppermint mocha goodness without all the calories or cost.

The WW recipe link seems to be broken – I’m also obsessed with Mint Chocolate anything! :)
