This morning I am running out the door to catch a plane to Cabo San Lucas. I couldn’t be more excited to sit by a pool, swim in a warm ocean, and explore a new locale. And the food – I am so excited about the food. I will definitely be eating lots of seafood and I am sure using lots of flex points on chips, guacamole, and margaritas. I will be posting lots of photos to Instagram of the trip, which will post to Twitter or you can follow me on Instagram, username Slender Kitchen. As I am running out the door, my mind is thinking about breakfast on the go. Here are some of my favorites. What are yours?
Also, just in case you were wondering, recipes will still be coming while I am away
I scheduled them ahead of time. My response time to comments and emails just may be a little delayed.
1. Jimmy D’s Breakfast Minis, 115 calories each, 3 points plus each
Why does everything mini always taste so much better? As much as I hate to admit it, I kind of love these breakfast minis from Jimmy Dean. I normally have two when I am grabbing them and running out the door along with a banana or some fruit. They taste naughty and can squelch any craving for egg sausage mcmuffins, unless I am the only one who craves one every time they see a Mickey D’s. I also love their Jimmy Dean Delights Turkey Sausage Quesadilla for 6 points plus.
2. Luna Fiber Bars, 110 calories, 3 points plus
Luna Bar just came out with new Fiber Bars that contain 7 grams of fiber per bar and can definitely keep you full. I am partial to the strawberry peanut butter flavor (tastes like a PBJ) but the chocolate raspberry and vanilla blueberry are also good. I haven’t had much luck finding these in stores since they are pretty new, but I have ordered them from Amazon.
3. CedarLean by Cedarlane All Natural Egg White Frittatas, about 180 calories, 4-5 points plus
Cedarlane and I have a love/hate relationship. I am not sure they know, but it’s true. I really love almost all their products but struggle sometimes with the price tag. However, I usually keep a few of these Egg White Frittatas stored in my freezer for on the go breakfasts. They are truly delicious and packed full of protein, veggies, and deliciousness. They are a breakfast you will feel good about.
4. KIND Nuts & Spices Bars, 200 calories, 5-6 points plus
Kind just came out with new Nuts and Spices bars that are pretty darn delicious. I have always been a fan of these bars because they only contain natural, whole ingredients and because they taste great. The new varieties are delicious, especially the Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt. These can also be hard to find in stores since they are relatively new, so Amazon may be your best and cheapest option.
5. Van’s Natural Foods Power Grains Waffles, 180 calories for 2 waffles, 5 points plus
Two waffles for five points plus that are full of whole grains and goodness. I like to pop two of these in the toaster oven as I am running out the door and smear some peanut butter, cream cheese, jam, or even cold cuts in between to create a quick breakfast sandwich. Cream cheese and ham makes a yummy sandwich or PB2 and bananas.

I definitely agree with the Luna Bars being a great on the go breakfast!
I found them at my local Target stores if anybody needs a place to start searching.
