Although I personally am not gluten-free, I know that many folks out there are and have many questions about eating gluten free and following Weight Watchers. It is already tricky to navigate the waters of any healthy eating plan, so adding another restriction on top of that can be challenging. Hopefully today's list will be the start of building a great resource for people who are eating gluten free. I am getting things started but need your help in the comments. Please add your favorite gluten free goodies that also work on Weight Watchers and I will take everything and compile an easy, printable list of Weight Watchers gluten free items.
1. Betty Crocker Gluten Free Brownie Mix, 3-4 P+
I accidentally discovered this when I bought it thinking I was grabbing the normal mix and let me tell you it tastes delicious. I like to make mine with fat free plain or vanilla yogurt instead of the 1/4 cup butter the recipe calls for. It brings the brownies down to 125 calories per serving and only 3 points plus per serving. Even with the butter the recipe calls for, they are only 150 calories and 4 P+.
2. Enjoy Life Cookies, 2-3 P+
Enjoy Life makes some really delicious cookies, bars, and other gluten, dairy, and nut free snacks. My favorite so far have been the simple chocolate chip cookies but the snickerdoodle ones are also delicious. You may be able to find these in your local grocery store, but if not you can order them online.
3. Gluten Free Snyder's of Hanover Pretzel Sticks, 3 P+ for 20 sticks
Out of all the gluten free pretzels I have tried, these are my favorite. With all the yummy dips out there, this is a perfect snack to have on hand and will ensure you never miss the gluten heavy version.
4. Wellaby's Cheese Ups Classic Cheese, 3 P+ per cup
Gluten free or not, these cheesy snack crackers are delicious. They are sort of like a puffy cheez-it (yum) and you can enjoy a whole cupful for just 3 points. They come in a bunch of different flavors, but the classic cheese is definitely my favorite.
5. Udi's Gluten Free Breads and Muffins, 4 P+ for 2 slices bread
Udi's makes delicious and healthy breads, muffins, and other bakery items for anyone - gluten free or not. I absolutely love their cinnamon raisin bread. They also make a delicious 3 point granola and a yummy veggie pizza.
6. Van's Gluten Free Products, varies
Van's is a company I have loved for quite awhile. They make delicious waffles, cereals, crackers, and more - many of which are gluten free and low calorie. Specifically I love their blueberry waffles (3 points plus, 115 calories per waffle), cheese crackers (4 points, 140 calories for 30 crackers), and french toast sticks (5 points plus, 190 calories per 2 sticks).
